MABIT
Friday, 24 may 2018


This year ESC students association held mabit on Friday, 24 may 2018. Mabit is one of a regular program from ESC to celebrated Ramadhan month. There is something special of mabit this year because ESC and ESA combined in this event. The purpose of this event is to boots our iman and taqwa from every members. Hananto is of the committee said event attended by about 40 members of ESC and ESA.
The theme of Mabit this year is “ indahnya persaudaraan yang terjalin dalam ukhwah Islamiyah dan meningkatkan iman dan taqwa dari setiap anggota”. ESC mabit be held in mosque of university muhammadiyah of purworejo. There were many agenda in mabit this year such as fasting break together, pray tarawih congregant, and teaching religion from Mr. Nasrudin M,Ag. The first agenda is opening by president of ESA Muhammad Fauzi Aji Nugraha. He said “ this event is to boots our iman and taqwa from every members of ESC and ESA”. After opening continued with fasting break from every members of ESC and ESA in ESC’s base camp.
After pray teraweh continued with teaching religion from Mr. Nasrudin M,Ag. He is one of AIK lecturer in university muhammadiyah of purworejo. The theme of teaching religion is the nine golden habbits. He said “ that there are nine golden habbits in ramadan month namely



-        Kebiasaan sholat
-        Kebiasaan puasa
-        Kebiasaan berzakat, infaq and shodaqoh
-        Kebiasaan membaca al-qur’an
-        Kebiasaan membaca buku >1 jam per hari
-        Kebiasaan beradab islami dalam aktivitas yang dilakukan
-        Kebiasaan mengaji dan berada dalam komunitas orang sholeh > 1 kali seminggu
-        Kebiasan berkata baik, beramal sholeh, dan memberi kemanfaatan bagi orang lain.
-        Kebiasaan berpikir positive dan murah senyum
The closing of this event are saur and sholat subuh congregant in mosque of university muhammadiyah of purworejo.
With this event, we hope that silahturahmi between members of ESC and ESA is better than before.

How To Encaurage English Department Students To Speak English More Often And Confidently

English is not difficult language to speak, as most people believe. While learning to speak English most of people tend to make some common mistake. Poeple believe that speaking is difficult thing. Basicly learning speaking is easy thing to do. I have met many people who are very good writting but they are not good to speaking and viceversa. I have also seen many people who believe that a strong grammatical understanding is required to speak English fuently. Here are several learning tips that can help you build your speaking English more often and confidently :

1.    Star with believing in yourself
First, you should believe to yourself that you can speak English is easy.

2.    Prepare
Know what you are going to say and why you want to say it.

3.    Practice
Speak to supportive with your friends in small group and choose the interesting topics to discuss.

4.    Breathe
In the thirty seconds before you begin speaking, take three slow. Deep breathe through youn nose, filling your belly. As you breathe out, say silently to yourself  “ relax”.

5.    Realize that your mistake doesn’t matter
Stand up and walk to around as you practice out loud. Don’t memorize your speak or practice it word for word. Imagine you are explaning your main ideas to a friend.

English Student Association

English Student Association or usually abbrevieted as ESA, is one of many student association in University Muhammadiyah of Purworejo. This association Student Association as a media for its members to develop the mindset, potential, and personality related to the discipline of their knowledge to be ready to plunge into society.
ESA has an organization structure. It consists of main division and its subdivisions. The main division consists of the president of ESA, the vice president of ESA, two secretaries, and two treasurers. The subdivisions consist of Creativity Subdivision, Religion Subdivision, Sport Subdivision, Public Relationship Subdivision, Organization Development Subdivision, and Language Subdivision. The president’s duty is to mantain a sense of unity among members of ESA and cordinate with the vice president and overall organizational board in running all existing work programs. The vice president’s duty is to replaces the president's function when the president is absent. The duty of the secretaries is to documenting the outcome of the meeting and making secretarial documents. The treasurers’s duty is to manage organizational’s finance. The duty of creative subdivision is carrying out English in motion program (emotion). Religion subdivision’s duty is carrying out a weekly Al-Qur’an recitation. The duty of sport subdivision is carrying out program related to sport namely Futsal in motion (E-fusion). Public relationship subdivision’s duties are held a social charity and promoting ESA through social media. Organization Development Subdivision’s duty is carrying out related to inside of ESA, such as recruitment, outbond for all members of ESA and reorganization. The duty of language subdivision is carrying out related to education namely teacher’s day
There are some criteria to fulfill if you want become a member of ESA, such as you should be active student of english department and complete regristration file consisting of :
a.     Photocopy of KTM
b.    Photocopy of KHS and KRS
c.     Completed the form
d.    Photo 3x4
There are some benifit in joining ESA. You will get many knowledge, such as you wil meet many inspiring people, you begin to learn that making your mentally stronger, you can learn to plan your time management as early as possible and you can learn that a strong person is a person who keeps on walking and keeps smiling even the hard world hit you.

VAN DER WIJCK FORTRESS




Van der Wijck Fortress is located in Gombong, Kebumen district, Central Java. About 30 minutes from Kebumen City. The fortress  is dominated with red color. A mini train will transport visitors from main gate to this historical site.
Inside the fortress documentary photos about the original fortress building when it was discovered are displayed and also photos of restoration stages. The military barracks, and posts inside the fortress are very clean.

The fortress was built in the early 19th century, in 1820s, when Diponegoro uprising was ongoing. This rebellion troubled Dutch a lot, as Diponegoro was supported by Southern Javanese elite. So Dutch decided to build stelsel fortress on land conquered. This fortress was initiated by General Van den Bosch for defensive and offensive fortress at South Kedu Residency. In that period, there are numerous fortress built with servitude labor system, as there was a regulation that civilians should pay tax by participating in labor. Previously, General Deandels got similar project of road from Anyer panarukan, 1000 km long withs ervitude labor.
This fortress in the same period of Willem Fortress in Mbarawa and Prins Orange Fortress in Semarang (collapsed already). This 10 m high fortress was initially named as Fort Cochius, taken from Dutch military official Frans David Cochius who was assigned as Bagelen region ar Kedu Residency. Van Der Wijck name was written on the entrance, one of Dutch commander in that fortress. His reputation was splendid to silence Aceh Rebellion with ruthless method. In Japanese occupation, this fortress was used as military dorm for PETA fighters. The fortress covers 3606.62 sqm, and has been renovated.

History of Karangsambung Mountain

Once upon in ancient times in one of Kebumen district, there is Karangsambung village. At the point the local elder appealed to the gods of khayangan to awaken a mountain. One night the prayer was granted by gods of khayangan with some requirements.
In the morning the elders gathered all the people and told them that place would be built a mountain by gods. All the people welcomed with joy over suplication of prayers by elders. And then the elders also convey the requirements given the gods khayangan to the villagers. Development of the mountain will be done tonight but there is a lot of competition in the development of the mountain that no one should see the development process. And the elders told their villagers to immediately enter into the house and lock the door tightly during the day before night until morning before dawn residents are not allowed to leave the house. the residents also undertake these requirements.
After the day before the evening the villagers were immediately entered into their respective homes. The gods went down and immediately did what he had promised the villagers. the gods worked without speaking. First made the poles and directly dumped with soil hill-shaped.
When the night will be morning and work is finished, just pile up the ground to be topped and the gods still worked. There was a girl on the way to the river luk ulo near the building of the mountain. Because the girl didn’t know there was announcement.
The girl went to the river to wash the rice for cooking. The girl walks without regard to her surroundings because the atmosphere is still dark and lonely. And  when the girl is going down to the river the girl is shocked to see a mountain.
“ huh there is a mountain here but yesterday here the land is flat, there is no a mountain here. Duh gusti, am I dreaming? “ said the girl in her heart. When the girl saw a big creature was carrying a stone, the girl immediately ran away. Because she was very frightened. “ heeeelllllllllppppppp” she shouted with a loud tone. The girl ran as fast as she could. To the extent of  ignoring the dark day. Rice that washed was spilled along the road. And based on the story of the local people rice that spilled into a red rock that resembles rice.
The gods were still working suprised  to hear that. The gods knew tha their work making a mountain were known by a girl. “ our work has been known by a girl, let’s leave this place. The villagers have vionted the agreement”. And the gods immediately rushed off leaving their unfinished work.

How to make Pure Porridge Green Beans

v Ingredients :

-        Green beans ( 250 grams )
-        water ( 500 ml )
-        gingger ( 2 slices )
-        coconut milk ( 150 ml )
-        salt ( ½ spoon )
-        milk ( chocolate and white )
-        pandan leaves
-        brown sugar ( 200 grams )

v How to Make it :

·       Wash 250 grams of green beans and place in a large pot, add 2 piece of  pandan leaves and water as much as half the pot and simmer the beans until soft.

·       After the beans gently, put 150 ml of coconut, stirring constantly.
·       After boiling coconut milk, put 200 grams of brown sugar, 2 vertebra ginger, 2 pieces of pandan leaves, a pinch of salt and mix well.

·       Once the sugar is dissolved and well blended and slighty thickened slurry and pour the porrige using filter to get pure porrige, add the milk ( brown or white ) according your flavour and pure porrige ready to serve.

If porridge is not too sweet, you can add a little more sugar into it. Ok, to make pure porridge green bean is easy. You can try it at home and serve for your beloved family and friends.

Dear Manolas,

            How are you mate? Long time I never meet you, I hope you are always healthy, I’m all right right here. I would like to tell you about my last holiday.

            Do you ever go to Kebumen? My last holiday I went to Kebumen with my close friends. We went to Surumanis Beach and Lampon Beach. There are many popular beach in Kebumen. At 2 o’clock we arrived in the Surumanis Beach. We had to buy the ticket in the counter, and paid Rp. 10.000,- to one ticket. In the Surumanis Beach I was very happy because it was very beautiful and there were many interesting places. After left the Surumanis Beach, we went to Lampon Beach. Lampon Beach was very wonderful place because there were many good photo spots. We walked around the Lampon Beach and I didn’t realize that it was night. Finally we left lampon beach at six o’clock.

            Before we went to home, we visited the fish auction to buy fresh fish. My close friends were very happy because the fishes so fresh and cheap. Through picnic to the Surumanis beach and Lampon beach, I knew and could see the amazing beach in Kebumen.

            That is my story when I spent my holiday. I want you to reply my letter soon and tell me about your last holiday.
